While in New York
From THEA435
While in New York . . .
- Spend some time with yourself at the Bethesda Fountain where Prior prophesized “You are fabulous creatures, each and every one. And I bless you: More life. The Great Work Begins.”
- Navigate the construction maze at Lincoln Plaza until you find the New York Library for the Performing Arts. Stroll through each and every floor and relish in a library that’s all about what we do.
- Wander through Grand Central Terminal. Look all around you, and look up to behold the great astronomical mural. Bring a friend and check out the Whispering Gallery.
- Pick an art museum. There are plenty to choose from—MoMA, the Met, Guggenheim, Whitney Museum of American Folk Art, the Frick, Brooklyn Museum of Art—to name a very few. Spend some time looking, thinking, imagining. Remember, suggested donation at the door is only suggested . . . you are a student, after all.
- Peruse the shelves of the Drama Book Shop, the world’s go-to purveyor of scripts, reference books and all things theatre.
- Hang out at a stage door after a performance to catch a glimpse of someone you’ve wanted to see all your life. Talk to some people. Grab an autograph, if you dare.
- Choose seven things to do from Gregg’s NYC Wiki.
- Reflect on each of these in your blog . . .
